Field Trip to Smithers Park

Join us on a field trip to Smither Park in Houston. It is a creative green space that celebrates art, culture, community and family. Located at 2441 Munger Street, it is next to The Orange Show. It features “outsider” or folk art and uses recycled materials for mosaics and sculptural works. Self taught artists have contributed to the works. The Glass Gathering visited the park a number of years ago when many works were still in progress, saw work happening and got to speak to several of the artists as they worked. Let’s go see what’s happened since then. For anyone interested, we can find a local restaurant afterwards and talk about all things creative!
