St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church and School is pleased to present a Photographic Native Bird Exhibition by Chris Elliott March 2- April 30. Come and be inspired by the native birds of Clear Lake and Dickinson! Chris Elliott Photography presents a two month exhibition in Brumley Hall, beginning with an opening night reception on Saturday, March 2 at 5.30 PM with wine, cheese, and a chance to meet the artist. Fun fact: the pelican was the dominant theological symbol for the Anglican Church under Queen Elizabeth. It was thought that the mother pelican would prick herself during times of famine and feed her chicks her own blood, a compelling analogy for the crucifixion. While mother pelicans do not, in fact, do this, we are surrounded by these awe-inspiring birds in clear lake and the principle of God sharing life with us rings true.
