Rene' specializes in combining her fused-glass creations with her love of painting to create unique shadowbox canvas paintings. In particular, she loves working with dichroic glass which was created in the 1960s by the aerospace program to help solve the problem of heat-shield failure during NASA's spacecraft re-entry to earth's atmosphere. This glass is created in a vacuum, and reflects and absorbs light in different colors. She interprets the designs from her fused-glass pieces out onto the canvas with acrylic paints to create one-of-a-kind, mixed media abstract/non-objective art.
She is a member of the National Society of Artists, the Galveston Art League, the Art League of Baytown, Marketing and Publishing Group, and Glass Gathering. Her work is currently on display in galleries and shops in Kemah, League City, Rockport, Baytown, Galveston, and Old Town Spring.
Rene' was born and raised in Texas City, Texas. She is a two-time cancer survivor who has an insatiable zest for life.
